Case study · Spring 2026 · Web design · Local SEO
A clearer, mobile-friendly home for a local clinic established in 1986 and still serving dogs, cats, and the people who care for them.
The context
Gold Beach Veterinary Clinic has served the community since 1986. Its current practice focuses on care for dogs and cats, with wellness, surgery, in-house laboratory work, digital radiography, ultrasound, and pharmacy information that patients need to understand before they call.
The website also has a practical local job: make the clinic’s phone number, hours, location, emergency policy, and team easy to find. Those details cannot be buried when a pet owner may be searching under stress or using a phone away from home.
Before and after
The design direction
The redesign uses the clinic’s building, sign, stained-glass artwork, staff, and patients as the visual material. That keeps the page grounded in the actual Gold Beach practice instead of relying on generic veterinary stock photography.
The Wayback Machine's March 30, 2025 capture makes the earlier structure concrete. Desktop visitors received image-based navigation whose information opened in scripted overlays, while phones were redirected to a separate mobile page. Services, products, payment options, staff, directions, and a long COVID protocol were available, but they depended on hover states, pop-ups, and a separate mobile route rather than one responsive reading order.
A stronger type hierarchy separates the clinic’s identity from practical details. The emergency notice remains visible, while primary navigation, the phone number, services, team information, and location each have a clearer place in the page.
On smaller screens, the same content reorganizes around reading and calling rather than shrinking a desktop layout. That matters for a clinic site because the useful action is often immediate: confirm that a service is offered, check the hours, or call the office directly.
What was built
The clinic’s phone number, schedule, and booking direction are prominent so visitors know how care starts without searching through the page.
Wellness, surgery, laboratory, imaging, and pharmacy information are grouped into readable sections that explain the scope of the practice.
The clinic’s history, team, patient photos, reviews, address, and hours give prospective clients a fuller picture of the people and place behind the practice.
“Friendly service, quick responses, excellent quality of work.”
